Amazon has reportedly acquired Blink for $90 million, a maker of affordable and easy to use security cameras that run on AA batteries.
The acquisition was revealed by [a report from Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-amazon-com-m-a-chips/exclusive-amazon-paid-90-million-for-camera-makers-chip-technology-sources-idUSKBN1FW0BI), though Amazon has not commented on the terms of the deal.
The acquisition could help Amazon further develop its connected home strategy, which includes its Cloud Cam and Amazon Key program for allowing deliveries within customers' homes while they are away. However, it is unclear how these two product lines will integrate at this time.
Blink cameras are still available on Amazon, and the company was also planning a video doorbell for release in 2018, powered by standard batteries.
