Under Garman, AWS announced the shutdown of underperforming services like Cloud9 IDE and CodeCommit. “We prioritize long-term support,” he said. “If partners offer better solutions, we’ll lean into them.”

AWS has faced criticism over its open source relationships, but Garman pointed to recent moves like contributing OpenSearch to the Linux Foundation as evidence of change.
