Transportation leader J.B. Hunt is doubling down on innovation through a strategic partnership with startup incubator UP.Labs. Announced at the UP.Summit in Bentonville, Arkansas, the collaboration establishes a venture lab aimed at developing up to six cutting-edge logistics startups by 2027, with the first launch expected in 2025.

Unlike traditional incubators, UP.Labs operates with a distinct model:
- Partners with corporations to build commercially viable startups addressing industry-wide challenges
- Limits corporate investment to avoid deterring talent or future investors
- Provides acquisition options after three years at fair market value (determined by independent valuation)
“This isn’t about proof-of-concepts,” explains UP.Labs CEO John Kuolt. “We’re building standalone businesses with real market potential.”
