Set in suburban Utah, a new reality TV series is sparking conversations about modern Mormonism, female friendship, and the price of fame. The show follows a group of Mormon women—many of whom first gained attention as TikTok’s “MomTok” influencers—as they navigate scandals, marital struggles, and the complexities of life in the spotlight.
From TikTok to Primetime
What began as casual content creation has evolved into full-fledged careers for these women. “It’s totally our job now,” says cast member Jessi Ngatikaura in an exclusive BBC interview. “But we chose this path and could walk away anytime.”

Behind the Reality TV Curtain
The series has featured explosive storylines including:

- Business rivalries turning personal
- Controversial “soft swinging” revelations

“Naturally, dynamics change when there’s money and family involved,” explains cast member Whitney Leavitt. “Some people get competitive, but we’re still friends off-camera.”
Religious Community Reactions
The show’s frank discussions about sex, marriage, and alcohol have drawn criticism from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, the cast maintains they’re presenting an authentic version of modern Mormon life.
“We’re showing how we live the Mormon life—and we all live it differently,” says Leavitt. Ngatikaura adds, “We’re normal, everyday girls—not people wearing bonnets and churning butter like some might imagine.”

The Emotional Toll of Fame
Both women speak candidly about the challenges of having their lives scrutinized by millions:
“It’s been hard coming to terms with having no control over the narrative,” Leavitt admits. “You don’t ever really get over it, but you have to accept it.”
The production provides extensive mental health support, with therapists available throughout filming. “At first I wondered why others needed so much therapy,” Ngatikaura reveals. “Now I’m having five or six hours a week myself.”
Changing Perceptions
Despite initial backlash, the cast believes they’re helping reshape conversations about faith:
“We’ve influenced people to question their faith or be more honest about it,” says Ngatikaura. “I’ve even had messages from people joining the church because of me.”
Ultimately, the women emphasize they don’t represent all Mormons. “We’re just showing our version,” Leavitt concludes. “Hopefully people can relate to our stories and struggles.”
