Cameroon-based digital health platform Waspito has secured a $2.5 million seed extension from prominent investors including DP World (via Newtown Partners), Saviu Ventures, AAIC Investment, Axian Ventures, and CFAO’s Health54. This funding will accelerate the startup’s expansion across Francophone Africa and support its innovative hybrid healthcare approach.

Founded in 2020 by Jean Lobe Lobe just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Waspito has developed a unique social network-style platform that connects patients with verified doctors for:
- Instant video consultations (no pre-booking required)
- Home sample collection for medical tests
- Medication delivery services
- Anonymous disease support communities
“Traditional telemedicine platforms requiring advance appointments don’t work for urgent cases,” explains CEO Lobe. “Our instant connection model mirrors how people actually seek care when sick.”
