Microsoft Ends Updates for Windows 7 & 8.1 on Modern CPUs
If you’re running Windows 7 or 8.1 on the latest Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm processors, your system will no longer receive critical security updates. Microsoft has officially blocked updates for these legacy operating systems when paired with newer chips like Intel’s Kaby Lake, AMD’s Ryzen, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8996.
