Anybotics Closes \(110M Series B with \)60M Extension for US Expansion

Swiss robotics innovator Anybotics has secured an additional \(60 million, completing its Series B funding round at \)110 million. This comes 18 months after the company initially raised $50 million in Series B financing.

The Anymal Robot: Revolutionizing Industrial Inspections

Founded as a spin-off from ETH Zürich in 2016, Anybotics specializes in autonomous quadruped robots designed for industrial inspections. Their flagship product, Anymal, is equipped with advanced sensors and cameras capable of:

  • Detecting thermal anomalies for preventative maintenance
  • Identifying combustible gas leaks
  • Navigating hazardous environments safely

“We’re solving the critical challenge of routine inspections in complex industrial settings,” explained Dr. Péter Fankhauser, Anybotics CEO and co-founder. “Our robots minimize human risk in dangerous areas while improving operational efficiency through more frequent, comprehensive inspections.”

Market Traction and Customer Adoption

Since its initial Series B funding, Anybotics has:

  • Doubled robot deployments to nearly 200 units
  • Expanded across oil & gas, mining, power utilities, and metals industries
  • Secured major clients including Novelis, Iamgold, and Stanford University

“We’re seeing growing demand for fleet deployments,” Fankhauser noted. “Some customers operate over 100 global facilities, each potentially requiring multiple Anymal robots.”

Strategic Funding Approach and Future Plans

With $130 million raised to date, Anybotics is strategically allocating its latest funding:

  • Series B Extension ($60M): Focused on scaling core operations and US market expansion
  • Future Series C: Will target new applications and industry verticals (expected 2026)

The funding round was co-led by Qualcomm Ventures and Supernova Invest, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, NGP Capital, and other prominent investors.

US Market Focus

The company recently established a San Francisco office, signaling its commitment to the North American market. This expansion comes as demand for autonomous industrial solutions grows across energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.
