Chowdury, a Rhodes Scholar with both an MD and Ph.D. in medical information systems, developed ListRunner after recognizing systemic inefficiencies during medical training. The concept evolved through health hackathons with co-founders Dominic Savoie and Dr. Trevor Chan.
An early prototype debuted at a Hacking Health event in Cape Town, where unexpected user adoption revealed strong market demand. “We had no idea people were actually using it,” Chowdury recalls.

Some medical professionals initially expressed skepticism about mobile solutions. Dr. Corey Rood of Children’s Medical Hospital questioned whether smartphones could adequately display complex medical information.
