Roc Nation, the full-service entertainment management company founded by music impresario Shawn Carter (better known as JAY-Z), has invested in financial trading platform Robinhood. The investment was made through Roc Nation’s Arrive subsidiary. This latest celebrity rapper backing comes after Snoop Dogg and Nasir Jones (Nas) also expressed their support for the San Francisco startup.

Launched last year, Arrive aims to partner with early-stage startups and provide them with brand services, business development, advisory and capital services in order to increase growth. The firm has already invested in three high-growth tech companies - French audio technology company Devialet, location-sharing platform InSite Applications, and now Robinhood.

Robinhood is valued at roughly $1.3 billion thanks to its 3 million user base that trades in stocks and cryptocurrency. With the recent investment from Roc Nation’s Arrive subsidiary, the San Francisco startup looks poised for continued growth in the financial technology sector.
