The latest features from Twitch aim at recognizing the efforts of its viewers by introducing two new initiatives, Clip Champs and Top Cheerers. These new additions will be rolled out starting today.
Clip Champs is for viewers who publish at least one video clip from a channel per week over four weeks. If their combined views reach 50 or more, they can earn the Clip Champ badge which is visible in chat, on Clips sharing pages, and other locations within Twitch’s platform.
On the other hand, Top Cheerers feature will display the top three viewers who have cheered the most in a leaderboard. The leaderboard appears in Partner and Affiliate Channels. If you click to expand it, you can see the top 10. This feature is set to launch closer to the end of the month.
The company believes these new features will encourage increased spending by channel’s viewers who want to be perceived as a top fan. The leaderboard offers two modes - one resetting every seven days and another all-time mode showing the top cheerers to date. The top 3 fans in each category will receive chat badges.
