Unify Raises $12M to Transform Sales Outreach with AI-Driven ‘Warm Outbound’ Messaging

AI-powered sales startup Unify has closed a $12 million Series A funding round, led by existing investors Emergence Capital and Thrive Capital. The round also saw participation from OpenAI Startup Fund, Neo, Abstract, 20Sales, and AltCap. This latest investment follows a $7 million seed round secured after the company graduated from OpenAI’s Converge I accelerator in 2023.

The Genesis of Unify: Solving the Cold Outreach Problem

Founded by Austin Hughes (ex-Ramp sales leader) and Connor Heggie (former Scale AI ML engineer), Unify was born from Hughes’ firsthand experience with the declining effectiveness of traditional cold email outreach. The duo recognized an opportunity to leverage AI and data analytics to create personalized, timely sales messages—what they now call ‘warm outbound’.

“We don’t compete with AISDRs. You can fine-tune every piece of Unify: the copy, what you say, and the data sources you’re pulling from,” Hughes told TechCrunch.

While the AI Sales Development Representative (AISDR) space is crowded with players like 11x.ai and Regie.ai, Unify differentiates itself by:
