Like the boy in Iron Giant, Elmodis monitors massive machines to prevent them from breaking or causing harm. The company recently secured a \(4.9 million funding round, adding to their previous seed capital of \)250,000 from Innovation Nest Poland.
Elmodis’ founders, Artur Hanc and Marcin Swiech, have developed a unique machine monitoring system using electric motors as sensors. The company plans to monitor thousands of industrial machines with its cloud-based software and hardware component capable of detecting issues and areas for improvement in electric motors.
The hardware is designed to work with all types of machinery used in manufacturing, making it easy to install while being cost-effective compared to vibration systems that require multiple sensors and a specialist to place them. Elmodis charges a per-connected machine subscription model.
While heavy industrial equipment may not be glamorous, the work Elmodis is doing is crucial for ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently. Let’s hope their protected machines don’t face an enemy as formidable as the Iron Giant.
