VIACOM ACQUIRES VIDCON FOR LIVE EVENT AND DIGITAL BUSINESS BOOST
Media giant Viacom has announced the acquisition of [VidCon](http://vidcon.com), a move aimed at strengthening its connection with younger audiences through live events and digital initiatives. Founded by YouTube stars Hank and John Green, VidCon is considered as the premier online video community event, attracting more than 30,000 attendees to its flagship conference in Anaheim, California (with smaller events held in Amsterdam and Melbourne).
