Accelerator program Zeroth, an AI and machine learning accelerator based in Hong Kong, has opened applications for its second program. The program aims to address the current talent and investment gap in Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Asia by taking on 20 early-stage companies per batch. Zeroth offers up to $120,000 in optional funding to selected startups.
According to Tak Lo, founding partner of Zeroth, there is a lack of focus on AI within the Asian region and an abundance of interest from start-ups. The program aims to assist early stage companies, as it believes this is where it can have the most influence. In addition to funding, Zeroth provides access to a diverse range of mentors who have created over $1.7 billion in AI company value.
Zeroth’s second cohort has seen investment from Mind Fund and involvement from 500 Startups. The program also boasts an impressive list of advisors including Antoine Blondeau, co-creator of Siri, and Hajime Hotta, who sold mobile ad firm Citrius Technologies to Yahoo Japan. Applications for the upcoming program are open until June 15th.
Y Combinator recently announced a dedicated AI track and other similar strategies from established accelerators demonstrate a growing interest in AI across the industry. Zeroth’s approach is being validated by these developments, and it remains proud to be at the forefront of this movement.
