IFTTT, the pioneering automation platform, has secured \(7 million in Series A funding to expand its capabilities in connecting web services, apps, and IoT devices. The investment round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from NEA and Lerer Ventures, bringing IFTTT's total funding to \)9 million.

“Users have created over 2 million recipes, with tens of thousands shared publicly. For instance, my App.net posts automatically cross-post to Twitter, and Facebook photos automatically backup to Dropbox—all through IFTTT.”
Strategic Expansion Plans
Founded in 2010 by CEO Linden Tibbets, IFTTT plans to use the funding to:
- Expand its channel platform (launched earlier in 2012)
- Develop tools for adding any API-enabled service
- Build a developer community around the platform
- Extend from consumer to enterprise applications
The company has already made significant strides in business integration, adding channels for Box.com and Yammer. The Box integration alone offers three key functions: file uploads, text file creation, and text file appending—enabling automated archiving of tweets, photos, and blog content.
