Hightouch Bolsters Its Customer Data Platform with HeadsUp Acquisition
Hightouch, a leading composable Customer Data Platform (CDP) startup, has announced its acquisition of HeadsUp, a data-driven sales intelligence platform. The deal marks a strategic move to enhance Hightouch’s AI-powered customer data capabilities, though financial terms remain undisclosed.
Key Details of the Acquisition
- Leadership Integration: HeadsUp co-founder Earl Lee will join Hightouch to focus on Customer 360, an AI-driven product that helps businesses unify and activate customer data.
- HeadsUp’s Track Record: Prior to the acquisition, HeadsUp secured backing from investors like 645 Ventures and achieved six-figure annual recurring revenue (ARR). Its tools were used by product-led growth (PLG) companies such as Netlify, Contentful, Dialpad, and Matillion to optimize sales timing using customer insights.
- Hightouch’s Growth: The startup recently reached a $615 million valuation after a $38 million funding round, signaling strong market traction.
Why This Acquisition Matters
Hightouch co-founder Josh Curl highlighted the alignment between the two companies’ missions. While Hightouch initially focused on data syncing, its expansion into Customer 360 closely mirrors HeadsUp’s vision of leveraging programmatic signals for customer value assessment.
“The idea of value assessment based on programmatic signals is a big deal in both B2C and B2B,” Curl told TechCrunch. “A lot of what Customer 360 aims to do is very similar to HeadsUp’s technology.”

Earl Lee’s Role and Vision
Lee, who previously built data analytics infrastructure at Fiscalnote, emphasized Hightouch’s potential to help organizations extract value from their data warehouses. His focus will be on ensuring client data is optimized for Hightouch’s downstream tools, such as ad targeting and audience segmentation.
“My mission at Hightouch is to build tools that help organizations derive value from the data in their warehouses,” Lee said.
A Natural Partnership
The collaboration between Hightouch and HeadsUp was years in the making. Curl and Lee first connected through mutual friends during HeadsUp’s early days and maintained contact due to their companies’ overlapping goals.
Lee noted that discussions intensified in mid-2023, revealing a shared long-term vision:
“We realized there was significant alignment in what we wanted to achieve as a company and what Hightouch was already executing.”
Looking Ahead
This acquisition positions Hightouch to further dominate the composable CDP space, combining HeadsUp’s predictive analytics with its own data activation tools. For businesses, this means more advanced ways to harness AI and machine learning for customer insights.
